Environmental

Sustainability

We are working with developers in support of the net-zero goal. Many of the services we offer have been updated with this in mind as utilities have a crucial role to play in the wider energy transition.

We specialise in grid connections for Industrial, Commercial, EV charging infrastructure, and Battery Storage sectors, playing a critical role in the transition to a low-carbon future. As the move towards electric transport accelerates, our expertise ensures the grid infrastructure is ready, incorporating EV load requirements, low-carbon technologies, and future-proofing in every design. As an organisation, we are also committed to reducing our own environmental impact. Across the wider group, we have undertaken external ESG assessments and taken proactive steps to lower our carbon footprint. This includes development of an overarching ESG strategy, monitoring our energy usage and waste, and encouraging sustainable practices across our teams.

Ways Of Working

We are working with developers in support of the net-zero goal. Many of the services we offer have been updated with this in mind as utilities have a crucial role to play in the wider energy transition.

The regulatory transition to a greater dependence on electricity-powered heating and transport is an area of focus. We support developers as they strive to achieve their decarbonisation objectives, switching from fossil fuels as the primary source of heating and hot water to the use of heat pumps. Similarly, we will incorporate EV load requirements into our grid assessments and scheme designs. As an organisation, we are conscious of our own environmental impact.

Our wider group, has undertaken external ESG assessments, and actions have been taken to reduce our carbon footprint. We’ve developed an overarching ESG strategy, monitoring our energy consumption and waste levels, and encouraging our staff to act in a way that aligns with our sustainability aspirations.

Social

Health, Safety & Wellbeing

Health and safety is at the heart of everything we do; we hold and maintain an excellent health and safety record achieved through the adoption and implementation of best in class safety practices and procedures. We proactively invest to ensure our site teams are trained to the highest operational standards, and regularly undertake safety audits throughout the on-site duration of the project.

We also offer a range of wellbeing support tools for all staff, from mental health first aiders and wellbeing champions to dedicated resource libraries and support helplines.

Our People

We know that our business is only as good as our people, so we develop and support our employees through ongoing training, professional development and academic programs.

Our Community

Working with the community is part of our Group culture, and both our Board and our people are always looking for ways to support local and national causes.

Amongst many other activities, we have provided play equipment for a special school local to our Braintree Head Office, football kits and equipment for local teams and both company and staff have made donations to food banks.

We also work with local schools and colleges in delivering career fairs and mock interviews to help those taking part when they search for employment in the future.
Our staff are encouraged to use their volunteering days each year where we pay our staff to spend time in the community supporting local charities.

Supply Chain and Delivery

We manage our supply chain carefully to ensure we support a range of local suppliers and minimise transportation.

In delivering a multi-utility service and continuing to innovate, we provide efficient installations and waste management, avoiding the additional travel requirements required when utilities are delivered through multiple organisations.

The Directors operate the business in line with recognised best practice corporate governance principles.
